Now Summers long gone, the nights are drawing in and we wave goodbye to Halloween and Bonfire night November is the official time to unleash that Christmas spirit!
If you’re a resident of Manchester you will be aware of the buzz about the city at the start of November. The anticipation of none other than our famous Christmas markets loved by the population.
Expect visitors from afar and the delicious circulation of mulled wine and bratwurst through the air. November 9th is the official opening date for the markets but seeing those log cabins sitting patiently to fling open their doors and sell beautifully hand-crafted wares and traditional oddities is the true beginning of Christmas for us.
If you’re visiting Manchester for Christmas why not stay in a hotel in the very heart of the city? We’re based just a five minute walk from the Christmas markets, ice rink and children’s ferris wheel! With reduced rates rooms in November and December now is the perfect time to book.
The markets really are an incredible day or weekend out if you want to really experience the activities, flavours and atmosphere. The opening times and dates of the markets are Friday 9th of November until Saturday 22nd of December from 10:00am daily until 7:30pm (8:00pm in December) with the exception of Albert Square’s markets which are open from 10:00am ‘til 9:00pm every day. The markets leave on Saturday 22nd of December, again with the exception of Albert Square, which will stay an extra day until Sunday 23rd of December.
We highly recommend you visit the markets, especially if you’re a Manchester winter first timer. They really are the magical icing on the Christmas cake.
